Tank Overview

 "Tank" class is a character designed to absorb the majority of enemy damage, essentially acting as a shield for the rest of the party by attracting enemy aggro (attention) and keeping it focused on them, typically achieved through high health pools, heavy armor, and abilities that generate threat; their primary role is to protect the group by taking the brunt of incoming attacks, allowing DPS classes to deal damage safely and healers to focus on keeping the party alive.

 

Key points about tank classes:

High survivability:

Tanks usually have very high health and armor values to withstand heavy damage. 

Aggro generation:

They utilize abilities that generate high "threat" to force enemies to target them primarily. 

Defensive playstyle:

Tanks often need to strategically position themselves, use defensive abilities, and sometimes taunt enemies to maintain aggro. 

 

Important for group content:

Tanks are crucial for tackling challenging encounters, as they allow the rest of the party to focus on damage output without being overwhelmed by enemy attacks. 

 

Different types of tanks may include:

Plate armor tank:

A traditional tank class with heavy armor, focusing on pure mitigation and high health pools. 

Shield tank:

Emphasizes using a shield to block attacks and mitigate damage. 

Mobile tank:

A tank with higher mobility and evasion abilities, allowing them to dodge attacks and reposition effectively. 

Spell tank:

A tank that utilizes magic or defensive spells to absorb damage, sometimes with less reliance on heavy armor. 

Tank Classes

  •  Warrior- is a melee-focused tank that relies on high armor, defensive stances, and aggressive threat generation abilities to absorb damage while maintaining aggro on enemies, utilizing a shield and strong defensive cooldowns to mitigate incoming attacks while still contributing significant damage output                                

           Weapons-  Sword and shield.                                                                                                

          Class Abilities- 

                            Shield Aura:

                                   A core defensive ability that significantly reduces damage taken                                                       from a single attack. 

                   

                   Thunder Shout:

                                    A powerful area-of-effect ability that generates high threat and                                                        applies Provoke debuff to enemies.

                  Shield Smack: 

                                         A strong attack that generates high threat and can be used to                                                           mitigate incoming damage. 

 

                   Armor Piercer:

                              An ability that reduces the enemy's armor, increasing the damage                                                 they take and generating threat. 

         

                   Retaliate: 

                                A strong damage ability that deals increased damage when the warrior                                        is recently attacked. 50% chance attack down debuff.

  •  Knight-

                      A "tank class" that specializes in absorbing damage and holding    aggro                          (enemy attention), effectively acting as a "meat shield" to protect other                            party members

         Weapons- Great Sword

         Class Abilities:

                   Taunts:

Abilities that forcefully draw enemy aggro towards the tank. 

 

                  Armor Boost and Health Boost:

                                                  Passive abilities that increase defensive                                                 capabilities. 

 

                 Defensive Break:

                                        Powerful abilities that provide temporary high damage                                mitigation.

 

                Boast:

                                          Mechanics that build up threat, keeping the enemy                                              focused on the tank.

  •  Enforcer :

                             Hard hitting tank, lack mobility uses defensive spells and powerful                                 offensive strikes. absorb large damage due to the heavy armor also                                 has a passive hit deflect. sending back 30% of damage taken back to                                                the attacker. â€‹

                               

           Weapons- Great Hammer

           Class Abilities: 

                  Wall:

                           A spell the materialize a wall to block incoming attacks

​​

                 Domain seal:

                                   A debuff skill use to inflict provoke on enemies in a limited                                                     area, also lowers enemies attack and defense by 10%.                                           (effects increase as character level up)  

                 

                Punish:  

                              A charged over head strike to the ground that produce a second                                         strike if hit with the initial swing that also create a ground wave                                        that erupts under the enemy targeted.

                Atomic crash:

                             A earth tremor caused when enforcer jumps and smash the                                                   ground causing and area effect debuff off balance, lower                                      defense 10% and some minor damage.
